Our Club's 1st XV Team competes within the highly competitive KZN Rugby Union (KZNRU) First Division-South, along with:
Richards Bay /Balito Dolphins / University f KZN (Durban) / Westville Old Boys & Harlequins

The Season kicks off in April, finishing in late July.
This Division, involves two matches against each Team, Home & Away. The winner of the First Division (South) League, then plays the winner of the First Division-North League, for the prestigious Dewar Shield Trophy.

Villagers last won this Trophy in 2008. The winner of the Shield then goes onto play the last placed, of the Premier Division, in a knockout match, for a berth in the higher Division, for the following season.

In August, the top four finishing teams in the KZNRU First Division, then go onto compete in the Junior Murray Cup Knockout Tournament. Playoffs are drawn weekly, following each weekends' Knockout. The Finals are held in the latter part of August. In 2001 & 2002, and again last year in 2014, Hillcrest Villagers won the converted Jnr Murray Cup Trophy in 2015 and 2016
