Villagers Triumph over PMB collegians.

Land Rover Durban-Hillcrest Villagers Rugby Club were at Home to Pietermaritzburg Collegians this weekend.

In the opening game of the afternoon, the consistently well performing Villagers 2nd XV, once again totally dominated their opponents from beginning to end. The end score being 59-3. Nic Tyler and Keanan Baker awarded Men of the Match.

In the main game of the Clubs' encounter, a very tight and over-robust encounter evolved. Villagers were huge in defense, and soaked up a very persistent Collegians onslaught. Shortly in to the second half, Hillcrest began to find the gaps and overlaps and raced ahead with a comfortable lead. A late try by the M Pietermaritzburg side closed the gap. Ultimately the game belonged to Villagers', with a 25-19 victory. Tries came the way of Alex Kleuwinghaus, Wade Windell & Gerry Botha with Kleuwinghaus kicking 2x penalties & 2x conversions. Men of the Match Awards Brian "Cappy" Lewis (Forwards) and JP Brown (Backline)
