Big night for HVRC with three great wins.

Land Rover Durban-Hillcrest Villagers Rugby Club continued into their 2017 Rugby Season this weekend , with a "clean sweep" with their 1st, 2nd & 3rd XV's winning their respective matches.

Turaco Energy- Hillcrest Villagers 3rd XV kicked of their season with a 21-5 win against Lamontville based Ogwini Bafana. Villagers were made to work hard for their win, by a side who demonstrated impressive displays ferocious tackling and some passages of expansive rugby.

In the end the brute strength, size and determination of the Villagers lads', decided the ultimate score line. Men of the Match went to "Big" Richard Hawkesworth (Forwards) & Charl de Klerk (Backs)

The Land Rover Durban Hillcrest Villagers 2nds achieved yet another overwhelming win of 46-10 against Durban Mets, with Men of the Match going to Roben Anderson (Forwards) & Mitch Piper (Backs)

The Land Rover Durban Hillcrest Villagers 1st XV once again achieved a decisive win against Mets in the Main game. Despite the score line, Villagers gave away numerous penalties which at one stage saw them reduced to 13 players on the field, yet the Visitors ensured they were not leaving without stamping their authority on the scoreboard. Men of the Match went to Paddy Mclaughlin (Forwards) & Tommy Bezuidenhout (Backs) Final score 33-9 to HVRC

At the post match address, Villagers Head Coach Mike de Kock, and Mets Chairman, Wally Fobian, were equally complementary of each other’s' performance, and the spirit in which the game was played.

Villagers 1st & 2nds are away to Balito Dolphins on Saturday April 22nd, and Villagers 3rds play Toti on Friday April 21st, in Toti.
