First home game WINS for HVRC

Land Rover Durban-Hillcrest Villagers Rugby Club continued into their 2017 First Division Rugby Season, with another two decisive wins'.

Villagers hosted their first home game of the season, against Pmb Collegians, at the Durban Shongweni Club

Villagers 2nd XV came out the starting blocks, firing on all cylinders, with an amazing a succession of tries and a 45-0 whitewash of their opposition. Men of the Match went to Martin Van Rooyen (Forwards) & Ruan Taljaard (Backs)

The Villagers 1st XV once again kicked into gear from early, with a flurry of tries, and an equally impressive final score of 73-0. Villagers are showing that their hard work in pre-season fitness and conditioning, is now allowing them to play attacking running rugby, with a scoreline to prove it.

Credit must however go to the PMB Collegians side, who albeit outclassed, never gave up until the final whistle.

At the post match address, Villagers 1st XV Asst Coach "Taffy" Gutu, complemented the Villagers' sides, for a job well done. Men of the Match went to Jono Deighton (Forwards) & Gerhard Botha (Backs)

Villagers are away to Durban Mets this Friday night, to be played at the Department of Correctional Services Fields, in Westville.
