Villagers remain undefeated this season.

A scorching Saturday afternoon welcomed Durban Mets to the Land Rover Durban Hillcrest Villagers’ home grounds as the top ranked team took on the 3rd placed team in the league.

The Land Rover Durban 2nd XV team fixture was played in the heat of the day, with the fitness levels being well tested for the players on the field. A lacklustre 1st half performance from Villagers saw them hold a slender lead of 12-5 at half time. However, the boys came out firing in the 2nd half and showed their superior fitness to run away with a 54-5 victory. Leading from the front, was captain, Dwayne Frenzel who received the forwards’ man of the match award. Wade Windell received the back line man of the match award for his excellent performance as he returned to the rugby field.

In the main event, the Land Rover Hillcrest Villagers 1st XV seeked redemption after a scrappy 1st round clash against the visitors. This was earned with an afternoon of running rugby, support play at its finest and physical defence as Villagers ran away 82-0 victors over their opponents. Men of the match went to Wes Volek, for his brace of tries and excellent support play and to Jason du Bruyn, who controlled the game masterfully.

The Turaco Energy 3rd XV where host to Westville Old Boys 3rd XV this past Wednesday, the 3rd XV showed great skill and walked away with a 31-0 victory.

The Land Rover Durban Hillcrest Villagers are host to Ballito dolphins this weekend. Our 1ST XV kick off at 15:00 and our 2nd XV kick off at 13:30.
