Land Rover Durban-Hillcrest Villagers Rugby Club, 1st & 2nd XV's remain at the the top of 2017 KZNRU First Division and First Division Reserve :
Villagers hosted Queensburgh Rugby Club at their home grounds at the Durban Shongweni Club on Friday night. Queensburgh 2nd XV have unfortunately withdrawn their 2ndXV from the league, as a result of countless injuries that has devastated the "Lower Highway" Club, in their maiden season within the KZNRU First Division.
The Villagers 1st XV did not achieve their usual rhythm at the outset, and a hard tackling, and brave Queensburgh outfit showed that they had come to play some hard rugby. It wasnt long before Villagers stepped up the pace and began their incisive running rugby, utilising their hard, and straight running forwards coupled with playing the ball wide, and exploiting the gaps and overlaps.
The Villagers finished as decisive and overwhelming victors with a 69-8 score line in their favour.
