Bradcor Armature Winders HVRC Touch Rugby Tournament 2017

Land Rover Durban - Hillcrest Villagers Rugby Club, hosted their annual Bradcor Armature Winders -Touch Rugby Tournament on Saturday, at their magnificent home grounds, at The Durban Shongweni Club

Nineteen teams, made up of eight players each, competed "fiercely" for the sizable cash prizes sponsored by Bradcor & the converted Richdens Super Spar sponsored Floating Trophy, as well as huge and generous sponsored non-cash prizes like Get Fit Hillcrest sponsoring Get fit challenges for the winning team and gym contracts.

The Teams came from far and wide and bosted strange and innovative names such as The Drunk & Disorderly's, Victorious Secrets, Strangers With Candy, Tagermeisters, and Shake & Bake.

The Tournament also included a Mixed Lads & Ladies Category, and in so doing proved to be very competitive with some amazing rugby flair & skills on show, from the ladies.

After a gruelling eight hours of Pool Games, Sudden-Death Playoffs, Knockouts, and Finals, The Spartans emerged as eventual Tournament Winners, with the The Underdogs winning the Mixed Category

The Black Ferns finished in 2nd Place.

The A Team took 3rd Place

This year we were able to give out awards to the Lady Player Of The Tournament and the Man Of the Tournament. These prizes were sponsored by Durban Sky Dive Center giving each person a sky dive course and jump.

Villagers 1st XV Head Coach/Tournament Convener & long-serving Villagers "Clubman", Mike de Kock, praised all the Players, Referees, First Aid, Spectators, for their epic contribution that made the day so successful.

Ultimately, each Team won a prize, and everyone that came to play, or just watch, enjoyed a great day of Touch Rugby
