Villagers win first games of the 2017 season.

Land Rover Durban -Hillcrest Villagers Rugby Club began their 2017 First Division Rugby Season With two decisive wins.

In Saturday, the KZNRU Premier & First Division Clubs all played the opening round of their Season at Growthpoint Kings Park Stadium.

Villagers stared their campaign against, newly promoted Queensburgh Rugby Club.

First up on the KP10 outfield, a highly disciplined and talented Villagers 2nd XV put on an enjoyable display of running rugby. For Villagers' newly appointed 2nd XV Coach, Jared Chiocchetti, it was a good payback for an intensive pre-season. The final score of 46-0 was the excellent start Chiocchetti needed for his side. Man of the Match went to Jono Deighton.

Following on from the 2nd XV win, Villagers 1st XV showed a class of their own, with an excellent and we'll drilled performance, annihilating their opposition with a 64-0 trouncing. Man of The Match went to Henkie Groenewald

Head Coach Mike de Kock was clearly delighted with both comprehensive wins, but will focus on his Squads' upcoming encounter with PMB Collegians.

Villagers hosts Pmb Collegians on Saturday afternoon, at the Durban Shongweni Club, from 2pm on wards.
